Overview:
BookMySalon.co.za is a modern, responsive web platform designed to streamline the process of discovering and booking beauty and wellness services across South Africa. I led the design and user experience (UX) strategy for this project, ensuring a seamless and intuitive interface for both service providers and clients.
Design Goals:
- Create a clean, user-friendly interface that appeals to a diverse demographic, particularly young professionals and busy parents.
- Optimize the user journey for ease of salon discovery, filtering, and online appointment booking.
- Ensure mobile responsiveness and fast load times to accommodate users with various devices and internet speeds.
Key Features & Design Highlights:
- Salon Directory System: Built an intuitive search and filter feature to help users find salons based on location, service type, ratings, and pricing.
- Dynamic Booking System: Designed a booking flow that reduces friction — users can view available time slots and confirm appointments with minimal clicks.
- Salon Owner Dashboard: Created a backend-friendly dashboard for salon owners to manage their listings, appointments, and customer reviews.
- Modern Aesthetic: Applied a clean, modern visual design using a calming color palette and clear typography to enhance professionalism and trust.
- Responsive UI/UX: Prioritized mobile-first design to ensure accessibility across smartphones, tablets, and desktops.
- SEO & Performance Optimization: Worked closely with the dev team (or implemented myself) to ensure the site is lightweight, SEO-friendly, and secure.
